NARI of Greater Dallas is proud of our contractors and all of their accomplishments. We want to help you get to know them better through featuring a NARI member every month and telling you a little bit more about them.
For December’s featured NARI contractor, we would like to introduce you to Chris Black, president of Blackline Renovations and Certified Remodeler (CR). He has been in the remodeling industry for 15 years. He first got into remodeling when he spent the summers during high school framing houses. This experience led to a college degree in construction management. After 10 years in the commercial project management arena, he started his own business, Blackline Renovations, in 2002.
Chris specializes in design-build residential remodeling. While there is not a typical range for Blackline Renovations’ remodels, for the past three years the average project size has been between $50,000 to $70,000. However, they have completed projects ranging from $10,000 to $900,000
Chris’s favorite remodeling project was the Kistler addition and kitchen remodel. During this project, Chris felt that the client was fantastic. He says “the scope and quality of the project stretched our capabilities and showed what we could accomplish with a great design, excellent selections and an owner that appreciated our talents.” We’ve included a picture of this project.
Chris decided to become a NARI member when he first started his company. He called people he knew in the industry that could advise him on the proper course of action. One person recommended NARI and he joined right away. Chris recommends hiring a NARI professional because “they strive to elevate their professionalism and educate their employees to stand apart from the ocean of remodelers that sell on price only.”
